Most SEOs are not concerned about ChatGPT threatening the SEO industry

ChatGPT is cool, very cool, in fact I used it for fun for my video introduction earlier this month, but does it put SEO out of work? Will it write all our content, will it provide SEO recommendations, and will it provide coding examples to replace SEO needs? Most SEOs don’t seem too worried.

Brodie Clark posted the poll on both Twitter and Mastodon, garnering nearly 2,000 votes.

The question was, “Do you think ChatGPT (or AI features in general) pose a serious threat to the SEO industry?” I’m not sure if everyone interpreted “threat” the same way, but anyway on Twitter, 59% of SEOs said no, don’t worry, and 41% said yes. On Mastodon, it was closer to 63% no and 38% yes.

Here are raw polls where people vote on “show results” – which I wish people wouldn’t put there – they can see the results after the poll is over and they don’t want to vote. 🙂
